Help with Kenwood Chef. Am i Doing Something Wrong?

Hi, the slot ended attachments that you have are for the 1950's A700 and A700D and possibly the very early 1960 A701's.
You need the ones with the cross pin as described by sunnth or in the links posted above.:happylove0 -
Well it says in my book to put the attachment in and turn slowly to the right, once you feel resistance you then push it up. What im going to do now is have a try of it with just putting the piece in and see what happens.
Hope nothing goes bang. #
Have to say that where you first push the attachment in there seems to be a kind of 2 section slant bit (hard to explain) where if my beaters etc had the pin then thats where it would engage in.
Will let you know how it goes.0 -
Sorry for delay in letting you know but dog had something in foot and had to get it out.
Anyway :j got it going and bits span round like they should. Wahayy, i can get baking now and do allsorts. Ive got my dehydrater coming from Tchibo sometime soon too, so im well away.
Thanks everyone for help and suggestions. It would have still just sat there had it not been for you all on this site. Its always the place to turn when you need help. :T0 -

Could someone advise me ?
Before Xmas I got a 901 on e bay. It was a bit mucky and I didn't have time to clean it properly so didn't use it. I have now cleaned it up and today used it to make bread. One of the things about it was that it seemed to have disgusting deposits of elderly-seeming oil in all its orifices, most of which I cleaned nicely with cotton wool buds, as well as the yucky foody deposits in all its cracks. Today it kneaded my bread (2 loaves' worth) for about 7 mins without complaining and only a bit noisy (I did have to hold it down tho), but when I took the dough hook out there was a fair amount of fairly solid, greyish oil in flakes all round where the dough hook attaches to the machine. I had thought about getting it serviced but the nearest person to do that is inconveniently in the middle of lnearby argeish town with rotten parking, so don't fancy lugging it there very much. I think I might just go on using it until it bursts into flames, but have to admit I'm a bit put off. Anyone got any thoughts ? And is a service expensive ?0 -
Would just like to update and let you know i now have the correct fitting attachments (except dough hook) which do have the pin at the top. I got these for a bargain price off ebay.
I was also very lucky to get given off freecycle a mincer, can opener and slicer/shredder attachments from a very kind lady which all work great.
Didnt know wether to start a new thread but can anyone advise as to what may be going on when i made a cake mix i noticed 2 or 3 splashes of what looked like a green/black colour substance had fallen into the mix. Would this be oil of some sort, if so where from and why? What can i do to stop it?0 -
Yes me again, im on the search of all the threads to find extra stuff out about my Kenwood now im getting all these attachments to use.
Ive just remembered what happened when i tried out the shredder attachment and that was the carrot or whatever seemed to fly out the sides and could be a bit messy. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how they have overcome this. Thanks0 -
Hi, I always drape a tea towel over the arm and bowl to absorb the flyaways!!!0

Hi, sorry to hijack the thread, but does anyone know where I can get a sausage filler for my Chef? It's the A901E model, and I got a mincer off ebay this week for it, which I must say is excellent, but I want to try making sausages, so I've googled for the part (A926 I think) and I just get "part now obsolete."
Can anyone help?
Please move to another place if this isn't appropriate.0 -
I've won a mincer off ebay and now I'm wondering what I need to fill sausages. I can't find a part for this. Any help appreciated. There are some on ebay, but I''m presuming these are for the newer 900 series."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
