Am i Doing Something Wrong?

I inherited a Kenwood Chef A701A after reading about them on here and asking family about them. I was given an A701A model without any attachments or bowl.
I have since been looking on Ebay and finally won a K beater, whisk and dough hook, all brought individually with buy it nows from same buyer. I also asked if he had bowl etc and i got the whole lot which was delivered this morning.
My problem is that after trying to get the parts to fit, i am unable to. I have the original book with it so have looked in that to see what it says about attaching parts but still no luck. I have since looked back on ebay and im now wondering if i have the right parts.
It seems a bit confusing because there are for example various dough hooks which sellers are saying fit a A701A and the A901 and yet some have a type of screw thread on the end of the attachments and others have a type of pin that goes through the stem. The ones i ahve brought have a screw thread type stem and i cant get them to fit.
Am i doing something wrong or have i not got the correct parts? Please help me out as i have been so looking forward to getting this up and running and want to get baking.

Can you post photos of what you have? We can then take a look and let you know if they're like ours.

Pictures would help but if its any consolation I have trouble getting my blades to stay put and as they came with the machine as new, I know they are the right ones!:rolleyes:0

Thanks. I will go and do some pics and then post them on here. Just about to put tea out though so could be within the next half hour or so.0

I've just had a look at mine a 701A model and my pieces have a pin through them and a screw bit. I have just put the k beater in and noticed that the pin bit doesn't seem to do anything or fit high inside the fixing of the rotating part so I'm not sure if the pin is really needed. I just push the blades in - not twist' and sometimes they are a little loose but fit tightly once down in the bowl so they can't fall out.0

There is a picture of the actual K Beater for your machine here http://www.spares2go.co.uk/browse/KENWOOD/A701A/K_BEATER/m138/p3613/s4848.htm
I can't work out whether it has the cross pin or not from that picture so will see what else I can find.
Here's the balloon whisk to compare. http://www.4kenwood.co.uk/cgi-bin/product.pl?PID=233619
I'm pretty sure they are the same as you have photographed. When you put them in, do you turn them slightly as that is what I have to do with mine.0 -
that was like mine sunnth and some things like the shredder attached to the top, you took the black bit off0
