Alliance and Leicester/Santander O/d

My husband has banked with Alliance and Leicester for over 30 years and his wages go in, he has a standard of overdraft of £200. His loan was due out today and we knew there was not enough money to cover this payment, we asked if the overdraft could be extended thinking it would be an immediate yes or no. Instead we were informed they would look into it and write to him?? Is this normal practice. Also we would like to make this a joint account but last time I applied to bank with them I was declined.

Will they credit check to make it a joint account?

Comments

  • They will do additional checks to make sure the overdraft is affordable.
They do need to credit score you to add you to the bank account....
