Freeview box and video

I've had a freeview box for a while now and in true MSE style have just been given a video recorder by a friend.
I'm having problems connecting everything up. The tv has 3 scart plugs taken up by gamecube, dvd and freeview.
I've connected everything up as follows but it doesn't seem to be working - which may be because I don't know where to access the video channel - I presume it won't just "appear" as the video isn't connected via a scart lead or because I have wired it up incorrectly.
this is what I have done.
The tv is connected to the freeview box via a scart lead and an aerial lead, the freeview is connected to the video via an aerial lead and the video is connected to the outside aerial via an aerial lead.
Any advice?

I would connect the freeview box to the video recorder, using scart and then the video recorder to the TV, using scart.0

I seem to have worked it out - just need to get another scart lead for the dvd player now.
However, I can record from freeview on the channel I am watching - is there a way to record a channel from freeview whilst watching another freeview channel?0 -
