Hello, when typing in M S works I cannot put an email address without it becoming a link, say in a cv. How can I get rid of the linkage and just type the web address as such?

In Word if you left click to one side of the address, then drag the mouse to highlight it and then click the U for underline, that removes the linking, maybe it is the same for Works

This might not be any real help but in Word you simply right click the email address and select 'Remove hyperlink', I cant imagine its too much different in Works although its been over 10 years since I last used Works.
  • This can be turned off in Word (2003) under Tools - AutoCorrect - AutoFormat As You Type - Replace as you type - Internet and network paths with hyperlinks. Not sure if it's the same in Works though but worth a look, and later versions of Word may well vary. It is just an AutoCorrect item though, so if you only want to turn it off occasionally rather than globally, the simple way is to press Ctrl and Z after you have typed the address and the following space, as this undoes the AutoCorrect change.

I've just checked and right clicking an email address in MS Works does give the option to remove the hyperlink.
