I have been using AOL as my isp for a number of years and my son uses his screen name set at a level where he cant(shouldnt be able to) access anything i dont want him to.
I have just bought him a Laptop and tried to set it up for wireless access only to find AOL dont support a wireless network when supplied via cable (I dont have a bt line).
I therefore will change isp to NTL who dont use a dedicated browser, therefore he will be able to get online wirelessly via Ntl/internet explorer....
MY QUESTION is how can I set it up so that he can only access suitable sites.

That just means they won't help you solve problems with it - you're at liberty to use whatever you want to create a home network.photome wrote:...AOL dont support a wireless network...0 -
True, just because AOL don't support wireless, doesn't mean you can't have it. Although probably best moving away from AOL anyway. The wireless router should have restriction options on it, but the details will depend on the model of the router."She is quite the oddball. Ordinarily I'd say yes but with it being AOL they may have some funny obscure settings you have to put into the router. By the way if your router is connecting to AOL then there is no need to have any AOL software on your pcs at all, and should probably uninstall them."She is quite the oddball. I've no doubt he will source his minds desires elsewhere and I'm fine with nekkid laydees just not on my kit in my house and he understands that.amcluesent wrote:I expect your son goes round to his friends house to download pictures of nekkid laydees.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

There's a number of different software you can buy that you can set certain perimeters and words that will block websites from your son. Netnanny is a popular. If you google it I'm sure you'll find it.0
