NHS Carparks!!!

I am soooo angry at the moment!!!!
Some of you may be aware of the 4 hr parking rule in hospital carparks, all of which are monitored by CP plus in Scotland
A very small number of staff were able to obtain parking permits.
For the remaining staff there are about 30 spaces that dont have a time limit on them. This is meant to cater for hundreds of staff members.
I know most of you will say that fines etc cant be forced through. However, Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board have now asked the car park company to provide them with employee details of staff who park in visitor spaces.
I know people will say that staff shouldnt be parking in visitor spaces but there arent any others available. You either park in the street in a dodgy area where numerous staff cars have been vandalised or broken into...or you try and get public transport at very very unsociable hrs!!
To add to this, one of the private car parks catering for one of the biggest hospitals in Glasgow has now upped their charges to £90 per 2 weeks!!!! There is no way most of the staff can afford this, let alone the visitors for very sick pts!!!
I am absolutely disgusted and quite frankly ashamed to be part of this health board!!!

Instead of venting here, get yourself over to the parking board for some advice on what you can do about it.
Frankly, CP Plus are a well known bunch of jokers - All will become clear.

one of the main reasons for charges will be to force staff onto public transport.
Having seen the impact of Queens staff near me, I would support that strategy, which is one that all large authorities and organisations have to consider.
charges as per the ones you mentioned are not that uncommon. I worked in glasgow nearly 20 years ago and I would have paid almost that back then!0 -
Even patients can't afford to park at the royal, and the way out of the car park is bad,y designed so it gets congested really easily.0

completely. it takes 15 mins at least just to get out of the car park.
I really have no intention of standing outside waiting for public transport at 10pm in winter. Not exactly the safest area.
This certain area has a very very very high incidence of interpersonal violence!!
Pogfish I know what you are saying but I have been ignoring CP Plus. Its now ridiculous that the health board want your details to take it further!!!!!
Bet if it was the managers who had their car vandalised on a regular basis car parkins spaces would appear for them!!0 -
Take it up with your union, if you have one. Its obvious that there is collusion between the managemant and the parking company. Is it even legal under the DPA to give out the details?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I would definitely take it up with the union. Staff members who work unsociable hours are always more likely to drive rather then use public transport which may be sporadic or non-existent. I would argue that managers who work 9-5 have better access to regular public transport than shift workers, so they should give up their parking spaces. The man without a signature.0
