Hi Guys,
Hoping someone can help me. Im a competitions addict and use the competitions board to enter competitions. Anyway last night after Id entered the competitions I went to my email and was faced with an inbox full of Mail Delivery SubSystem emails! They all say:-
This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification
THIS IS A WARNING MESSAGE ONLY.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESEND YOUR MESSAGE.
Delivery to the following recipient has been delayed
I have had these before but I thought it was really odd because they were full all the competitions Id entered by email and were to different companies. I decided to do a test and I sent one to my partner and he recieved the email and I did not recieve a message for the one I sent him. What could be the problem? Im with sky email if thats any help.

Bit more info. I checked my email and the email I sent to my partner last night he recieved but I have just had one of those delivery notifications saying there has been a delay. Im confused!!!0

I suspect that a server, or a series of servers, on the outward bound routing at SKY were down, It is not unusual for this to happen, what is unusual is when there is no alternate route.
My guess is if you email someone who is not at SKy, it will now be resolved. Otherwise you will recieve another message telling you that the email failed; not sure what the timing is but is usually 48 hours.
It also takes time to clear the backlog.0 -

I've been getting this the last few days. Which is why I checked here cos I figured if it was a general problem it would have been raised. I've only gone back a page or two but this seems to be the only thread on the matter.
I'm with Sky as well. So is my brother and he's been getting it as well.
But as the OP said, the emails are getting through (or at least, I know some of them have. I haven't checked every single one).
I'm assuming it will "blow over" but will keep my ear to the ground for similar stories.0 -
This was happening to us too. We could send to our other Sky accounts but not outwards to comps, like you, Alison. Called Sky and they said it was a known problem and they are working on a fix but don't know when it would be sorted. Good old Sky, eh?
