NCB for 2 cars

So my mom has a car and 4 years NCB.
If she buys a second car can she use her NCB on that car? And how would the 2nd insurers would know the NCB is already used when she sends them the NCB letter from her previous insurers.


Additionally if I'm a second driver on the second car and I had a accident which is my fault does she lose her NCB?

She can only use her NCB on one car. (Her current insurer might do her a deal if she adds the new car onto her policy)

If you make a claim as a named driver then it affects her NCB., (none would be awarded for the year in which the claim was made, and she would lose 2 years of any existing NCB at renewal - unless she has it "protected")

and if your mum has two cars and you're only a named driver on one of them; you might as well put your name down on the insurance as Fronty Frontington

Aviva matched my NCB when I got a second car.

But as said, if your mum has two cars, with you a named driver on just one you would have to work hard to demonstrate that she was the main driver.
