"STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000034 (0x00000000 0x0000000)
The system has been shutdown."
Son's laptop has come up with this...
Fujitsu Amilo running Windows XP.
We have restarted it several times but this error message keeps coming up. Cannot get desktop or anything.
Any ideas or do we take it to the computer shop?
Thanks.

when you start it up, keep tapping F8 and try and boot in safe mode.
if not use a boot disk to boot it up, hiren's bootcd would probably be best
http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/
save to desktop and burn image to cd using imgburn, nero or similar. Enter BIOS on lappy, and set it to boot from cd......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

0x00000021a error codes 9/10 tend to be triggered by missing/corrupt files inside the Windows OS.
In addition/alternatively to the previous post, if you can get into F8 safe mode, try the sfc /scannow command in the command prompt. For most serious XP repair utilities you will need to XP original media/disk. In addition to the SFC check, you may need to use the XP repair console to restore the sytem back to when it was working, plus other options such as repairing the MBR on your hard drive. In bad cases you may need to do a repair install.
Once you get it starting properly you will need to check out how it could have happened - just check your hard drive and RAM for errors.0 -
