Check the signs in the college to see if there was a mention about clamping.
If the signs in the college car park are not VERY clear then you have a chance of getting it back but you will have to sue them/college if you paid cash or go through the bank for a chargeback if by card.
As for the B&Q you should have saved the £50.00 quid and ignored it. Read lots of posts about free car parks and you will see you do not have to pay anything.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
As P t P says it depends on the signs, check the car park. Hopefully if the signs do not conform a letter before action to the clampers, and the people who instructed them may get your money back.
Again as advised if you paid by credit or visa debit try a charge back stating you paid under duress and to limit further cost. It wont be easy but push the card issuer.
Again I am afraid the £50 you paid to these parasites has gone byebye's, but at least you know next time you have no need to pay!0 -
As you are a tad forgetful, maybe you need to invest in some of these and keep them in your boot...?
http://boltcroppers.co.uk/Product/TB-OLY39048Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
Get onto your student union and campaign for the removal of these clampers. Whilst it fair to charge for parking, allowing one of these hyenas to clamp when a study session can overrun is unacceptable.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Yes a campaign by the SU can focus the minds of the College admin, when their action disrupts the place, say a "Park In", with a large body of students sitting in their motors, add local press clampers threatening allsorts, and being filmed making unlawful threats works wonders0 -
I imagine a variation on the full supermarket trolley trick might work. Get all students in on this or it won't work. Get to within 10 mins of the end of a study session and all get up and leave telling the tutor that you must go or you will be clamped. Done a few times will soon hack them off.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

• B&Q ticket was a trick and you shouldn't have paid. Never pay private parking invoices, simply ignore.
• The clamping situation depends on signage. Show us a photo and your receipt. You may or may not be able to get your money by suing the university in small claims court.0
