Renaissance Manchester Hotel - any places around about for quiet drink/meal??

Hi,
am thinking of staying here for one night for my husbands 40th birthday on a Saturday in March. We are not clubbers so would be looking for somewhere nice to eat and drink in the evening, maybe Chinese meal.
Any advise appreciated.

Loads of great restaurants near your hotel. You are in a great position.
There is china town if you are after chinese meal - I would recommend you try https://www.5pm.co.uk which will give you options & usually some great deals. It is fairly walking distance, but would only be a couple of quid in a cab. The most famous one is yang sing, but there are so many options cos china town is just filled with restaurants.
I would recommend Gaucho grill, which is just a street down from where you are. It is a fantastic place, great atmosphere & feel. It is a steak restaurant & Ive never had steaks like it.
Alternatively for a special occasion there is the mont restaurant which is at the top of the urbis, a very high glass museum which is a 2 min walk for you. Its a spectacular view & has posh menu with celeb clients - not that dear.
