Jsa

Hi there, can anyone shed any light on JSA.
My partner was made redundant on 16th August without any warning.
So the following day we went down to our jobcentre to register.
We were told we could claim JSA but they didn't know which type we would get or how much it would be.
On saturday 3rd september we received a letter stating we would get £105.95 per from 20th August.
Today we received another letter stating that we were going to get £85 per week not £105 due to a change in our circumstances. (No changes have occurred since 16th August so I have no idea what thats about!)
What I am really trying to find out is when are we likely to receive this JSA regardless of the amount. Has anyone any idea how long it usually takes?
Thanks

Hmmm from my experience when you make a new claim, you sign on the same day and usually receive the money in 3 working days from when you signed, or when your claim is approved0

Thank for that info. I had better chase it up tomorrow. not had any money at all and its 3 weeks since we first went in. They did tell us that it was paid 2 weeks in arrears though.0

3 weeks? yeah i would definitely call them, i dont remember it being that long if the claim was approved and they said you WILL get paid.0

Yes I will do, things are starting to get decidedly iffy now.0
