Renting - suggesstions from people?

My 6 month contract finishes next month so i'm looking for somewhere else to move to, i lived in a 5 bedroom flat for the past 6 months and i really don't want to do that again..

I would really like to live in a 2 bedroom apartment where the other person owns the property and rents out the second room to help with the mortgage...are their any websites that would be better to look at rather than ones such as Gumtree for this kind of property to rent?

Also, i woudl expect the furniture to be nicer etc. and for the other person to take care of their home if they owned it as opposed to just renting...

i need somewhere where i can commute into the City quickly....but i'm not too fussed about location really (as long its reasonably safe)

Any pointer/tips from anyone? I pay £400 a month in the place i'm living at the moment (which i thought was expensive) but as its so horrible i'm really willing to push it up to £500-550 to lvie somewhere nice, as its really important to have a nice home...

  • I've looked at moveflat.com before, and it seems to be well designed and fairly popular.

  • Give https://www.flatmateclick.co.uk a try - when I was considering a flat/houseshare they seemed pretty good, with loads to choose from. They even send you 'flatmate match' emails which I thought was pretty good.

There's plenty of nice places out there just waiting to be found - a friend who lives in Fulham managed to bag herself a house share with a rich bloke who was hardly ever there - massive telly, sound system, - even a garden!

    Good luck!

I had meant to put London in the title of my thread but obviously forgot to do so!!

Oh i thought rightmove was only for a group of people or individuals/couples wanting to live together, rather than just renting a room, but thanks so much for pointing that out! I'll have a look...

scorpio princess - that sounds awesome for your friend!! And I hadn't heard of flatmateclick boefre, i'm off to have a look :)
