Halifax Overdraft Credit Scored?

If I ask for a £50 overdraft on my 6 month old Reward account will it perform a credit search on me?

Not unless it's referred to underwriters.

You'd usually get a clear yay or nay decision.

If you do it online, enter 9999, and it will tell you what your guaranteed limit is, and if you go ahead, you won't be credit searched

Interesting. I'll have a nosey. It's not that I've anything to hide but I like to keep searches to a minimum for obvious reasons.

It says I can have £700 which is very generous given all I've done is cycled £1000 in and out to get the £5 and had a few card payments for gambing go in and out.

It seems there's no interest free buffer anyway on this type of account so I don't think I'll bother.....

Upgrade and it's only £15pm as you get up to £300 fee free. That's one way of saving £15 - plus the free fiver means an overdraught only costs a tenna for every 300 borrowed.

    Cheap payday loan lol

Well, the first £300, not every £300....

I don't need the overdraft as such - it would just be handy with payments going back and forth.

This is just an account to make a fiver a month and keep gambling transactions away from my main account and employer.

Thats an expensive way to borrow £300:rotfl:
  • What? A tenner over £30 based on standard charges?

    Really?

If it's not going to be used what is harm in taking it just in case
