This DVD supplier advertises cheap prices, takes payment from your credit card straight away and then fails to supply.

Website states 'Usually dispatched within 24 hours'

1st email thanks you for your order.

2nd email states not in stock on back order (3 - 5 days) with suppliers.

3rd email states 'technical difficulties with manufacturer, will cancel order if unable to supply after 30 days from order date'.

4th email states 'DVD is unavailable from supplier, therefore cancelling order', this was only 10 days after placing order.

There Website currently has the same DVD for sale 'usually dispatched within 24 hours' for over double the price I paid.

This is unethical and unfair business practice.

Thinking of ordering from SelectDVDS, seems like a bargain, don't bother !

I ordered the Blue Planet DVD from https://www.selectdvds.com as it was only £10.98. Didn't arrive but instead they've been sending me regular apologetic e-mails saying please hang on they're having problems.

Now I get one saying they can't get DVD from their suppliers so order's cancelled and I'll be getting a refund. But guess what, it's still on their website showing 24-hour availability but now it's priced at £23.9 (whatever that means.) They charged my card two weeks ago so I was definitely not happy and told them I wanted the DVD instead.

I never bought anything from them previously and wondered if they were dodgy, the e-mails you get from them are littered with spelling mistakes etc. Plus (too late) I've noticed they don't have a proper business certificate on their SSL site. Anyone else here bought from them?

My recommendation anyway is avoid them.

Grrr, the same thing's happened to me - I got the same email but the DVD is still showing on the website at double the price...

Anyone got any response from their emails? I haven't yet had a refund but I'm a bit wary of rocking the boat as I ordered another DVD from them and that hasn't arrived either.

Hi - yep they got me as well. Exact same senario as the first thread - took money strung me along now say "unavailable" but on sale for more expensive price. I have sent three e mails - no answers. Latest pointing out as they took my money at that point a contract was formed and I dont want their refund I want my goods (not holding my breath though). Anyone know our exact legal posistion ?

Like you I replied explaining where the refund could suitably be positioned and asking for DVD to be sent. Got silly mail back so I just restated demand for DVD. Don't know legal position but if there is one then just watch me use it to the full.
