Wills & Probate

I hope someone will point me in the right direction and tell me which is the correct forum to post this question in? I dont see a forum for wills and probate specifically, here goes:-
I have the probate to act as executor for a relative who died intestate, I have the letters of administration etc.,
I have established that there is no libability for tax on the estate of this relative.
I have obtained back bank statements from the bank account (that I know of) which was the current account of the relative.
I have seen all the utility payments and STATE PENSION and Attendance allowance inpayments for the relative.
I have a problem in that I KNOW my relative was being paid a pension from the civil service, she was a job centre manager
and worked for what was the DHSS at the time.
I cannot find any details of the relative's DHSS pension (which I believe was a substantial pension as it was paying for
care home fees of relative).
My question is: Who should I approach to find out the details of relatives Civil Service pension and into which bank account
it was paid?? What documents will I have to send to the Pension fund/paying office other than a copy of the letters of administration?
Also is there a "one stop" form to apply to NS&I to enquire about all holdings of NS&I savings products of relative? And will I only have to send 1 copy of the letters of administration with the enquiry form?
Hope you can help and point me in the right direction.
Thanks

I know this as I get a widows pension from the civil service. Civil service pensions are administered by Capita Hartshead. The helpline number is 0870 169 9700. You will need the persons national insurance number, and they will let you know what to do next and presumably the account where the pension was paid to eventually.0

you also need to search the lost assets register and to advertise for any unknown debtors in the Gazette. This last prevents anyone turning up years later and claiming that the deceased owed them money. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

probate queries are usaully her eor the over 50 forum unless they involve property.
OP, need you to answer the q about adminstration of the trusts, please. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Thanks alot for that, I know this relative had a Civil Service pension but it is not being paid into the only current account I have knowledge of. Will the Capita Hartshead be able to tell me which bank account and its a/c number and sort code and branch office the pension was being paid into? I can only approach the bank then with a copy letters of administration to find out the amount of cash in this account when the relative died and what transactions were made for about 3 months prior to the death. Thanks PCDIMWIT0

I haven't been in your position but I am a Civil Service pensioner. Contact Capita Hartshead, I am not sure what they can tell you at first contact but I don't think anyone else can take this forward. Your relative's old employing dept, DWP now I assume, will not be of much help. If the CS pension is in payment all necessary records would have been passed to Capita. Once a CS pension is in payment the pensioner never need contact their old dept. again.0

Capita have all the information that you need. They will need to see your letters of administration before they let you have any of it though. I'd ring them and take it from there.0
