FOS claim upheld - should I contact HSBC direct?

Hi All,

Quick question...my claim with the FOS was upheld (great news!) and Ive received a letter from them to advise that HSBC will be making an offer.

In the letter it states that I dont need to do anything and if they dont hear from me within the next 14 days they will assume I have accepted the offer.

I was wondering if its possible to contact HSBC direct to let them know that Im happy to proceed or if I have to wait for the 14 day period to be up?

Personally I don’t think it matters either way. You just might get frustrated with the wait time for your call to be answered and then have the normal being passed from department to department until someone has a clue what you are on about! If I were you I would do as the FOS suggested and just wait, it might save you some frustration

Great thanks!! I wasnt too sure if i need to do anything but that pretty much clears it up.

Very excited! a year and a half of waiting and god knows how many emails to my Adjudicator (lovely guy but I bet hes glad to see the back of me now!)

Im sure I will find out what the value of the offer is going to be in a few weeks time but hopefully all this pain hasnt been anything in the region of £10 haha

Finally got an upheld letter from FOS regarding HSBC

Initial letter sent to HSBC in march 2010!!
Taken a while so only another few weeks or so

hi guys!! i also got letter today from fos that hsbc claim been upheld!!!! been waiting since march 2010!!!! hurrah!!!! emailed fos straight away even though i know they prob won't get it til monday!!!! cant do any harm to let them know i accept and hopefully get ball rolling on getting my pennies(hopefully pounds) back!!!! :j
