Can i ask Sazi1990 how do you get your shopping down to £25 a week for 3? There's 2 of us (3 every other weekend) and i've managed to get mine down to average £40 a week, but i'm struggling to get it lower.

    Was wondering that too!!:o

Looking through my favourites on my supermarket, one thing that does jump out on me is that buying cooked and sliced meats for sandwiches is hugely expensive in terms of £££ per Kg

Does cooked meat freeze well? if I was to buy a big gammon or beef joint, cook and slice it could I freeze it in small potions to use instead of deli-counter ham ??

were a family for 5 but 3 of them are under 5 so more like a family for 4 in portion wise (altho we use alot of fruit because i can't give 3 kids 2 kids amount of fruit lol well i could but they wouldn't stand for it) we still have 1 in nappies aswell we spend £200 a month (sometimes more sometimes less so it evens out) i tend to do big monthly shop then little shops that soon add up, so i'll spend maybe £50 in te$co at the start of the month then i'll spend about £15 in the farm on fruit and then milk and bread and little fiddle bits get added to that, i stock up on nappies when there on offer, infact i stock up on everything when there on offer

yes cooked meat freezers well :) lidl are fab for reducing big gammons you get a 1..5kg one for about £4 which is fab :) you really need a slicer for this to be worthwhile tho, saying that i orefer gammon sandwichs to ham anyway so even if it only worked out the same cost it's still nicer :)

  • I live on my own, with occasional visitors, I do enjoy doing a roast but find it lasts me for days so I started slicing and freezing it to have on sandwiches or re-heating in a gravy. I also make a meatloaf which also freezes well.

  • we are 2 adults, a 4 yo and a 1yo. i tend to do one big asdaa online shop once a month - around £110. and then milk, bread, fruit adn veg, yogurts each week - probably £15-£20 a week. so about £170-£200 a month. that includes household stuff like washing powder etc. i dont have to buy nappies fro the lo as we use washables.
i dont have much choice about supermarkets as we live near a small town which has a Spar or Coop. Nearest 'big' name supermarket is over 25 miles away....hencethe asda delivery!

Go and have a look in Asda. They are reducing to clear a lot of things at the moment. Yesterday I got Birds eye salmon fish fingers, leeks, cod in butter sauce, ice cream (1 litre tub), mayo, gravy granules, mixed pickles, paxo stuffing, fish cakes, sweet chilli sauce.Cant think of the other things I managed to get but nothing was more than 50p.:)
