Looking to buy an iPod touch or Samsung Player 50, but don't seem to be able to find any others to compare.
Who else produces similar products?
I don't want to buy an Android phone.
It would be for DD & DS who have phones. It would be a step up from their MP3 players and would be hooked up to home WiFi.

Echo the above, if they are already into the cult of Apple or otherwise have smart phones then the iPod Touch does less than what the iPhone does.
Whilst there can be an advantage to have a separate mp3 player to your phone due to battery life, hooking it to a docking station for music etc I would question why someone would want a Touch and iPhone. For pure music playback there are better devices than the touch in terms of battery life etc0 -
If it were me i'd go for the ipod
This is purely to do with the amount of accessories/speaker docks etc.
I'm sure the samsung is a very able mp3 player, but nothing compares accessory wise to apples.

Not into the Apple cult at all. Please don't go for me, as i hide under the table,
Yep, MP3 players have better battery life, but its the games and apps that the kids find so fab and they seem to have outgrown the Nintendo handheld consoles etc
Can you get BBC iPlayer for free on iPod touch and watch directly via WiFi??0 -
My daughter has the Ipod Touch 4th gen and loves it. I had the 3rd gen Touch but now have an iPhone, I still use my Touch for my main music collection though as I can't bear to part with it!
Yes you can watch iPlayer free though there is no app for it but you can put a link onto your home page which works well, there is a free ITV Player app and you can stream TV (also free) to the Touch through wifi.
I really recommend them, especially as the range of accesories and docks are widly available.

I'm assuming you're not into a cult, you're an individual, you think for yourself..... and you use Windows?
