Claiming via phone!!!!!

I've eventually got off my bum and started the process of putting in a PPI claim on a TSB Credit Card. Lloyds have a link on their site which takes you to the questionnaire on the Financial Obudsman site. I had the form fully completed apart from the policy number and the start and end dates. I decided to ring Llloyds to try and obtain this info. I was then advised by the customer service advisor that they could take the claim/complaint over the phone and they would locate the start and end dates, send a letter to me in 3-5 days acknowledging my claim, with a decision in approx 12 weeks.
My question is....... was it a good idea for me to have done this over the phone, or should i have completed the form myself and send in?????
Cheers

Hi
Allot of people have completed the process via phone so there is really no problem with it at all. The only thing about doing it over the phone is that you are put pretty much on the spot with your reasons for being missold PPI. When you complete the paper form you have the time to word it correctly and think about your reasons for complaining. As longs as you are happy that the answers you gave over the phone are the same as you would have written on the form then there is no issue at all and the process will continue in exactly the same way as if you had sent the form in.
Good luck with your claim

The good thing is, I had already completed the form and the only things that were missing were the policy number and dates, and i had the form in front of me while i was on the phone. So yeah i gave them pretty much the same answers as i would have done via post.
Thanks, you've put my mind at rest now.

When they took my complaint I did it on the phone 1st after I was told the one I sent in the post was lost.
I then followed it up with an email to them containing the PPI questionnaire so they had a copy of what I had written as didn't was anything being missed.0
