USB Hard Drive Cross Platform Encryption - Can it be done?

Scenario:
* I use Windows, Mac and Linux.
* I transfer files between them using a USB flash drive.
* I also use a 120GB hard drive for backups and file transfer too.
* I want to encrypt at least the data on the hard drive (ideally the USB drive too) but be able to access all files from all platforms at all times.
Can this be done? I look forward to interesting solutions :-)
(p.s. I have looked at software which encrypt but all I have found so far is platform specific.)
Thanks for any help.

I'd have thought some form of hardware encryption solution would be a top contender if you required an invisible solution.
If that wasn't as necessary why not encrypt packages using something like secureZip - its cross platform and supports quite high levels of encryption.

You would need to format the drive in FAT32 to use it in windows and on a Mac, not too sure about linux.0
