stuck between the AA & Barclays

Options
pulling my hair out here... The AA agreed to refund me £345 (because they had been charging me for membership after it had been previously cancelled). They transferred the funds to a defunct visa debit card of mine (despite the fact they had my bank account number and sort-code) and now it can't be found and they are blaming my bank and have said they take no further responsibility. My bank have spoken to them but they cannot find or locate the payment despite the fact they have card digit details, time, date of transaction etc..... So my bank are blaming the AA and are taking no further responsibility either:( - stuck in the middle here. Any suggestions of what I can do??? thanks

Write to them both (one letter addressed to both of them) and insist that they start communicating a bit more effectively to locate your payment. Tell the AA that you expect results within 14 days or you'll take them to the small claims court.

You could threaten to take AA to small claims court, where they would need to prove the money has been repaid -- only problem is if they genuinely have returned the money and the error is with the bank then you stand to loose and down £35 fee.

Make formal complaints in writing to BOTH institutes, have them both investigate it and give them reasonable time to response (21 days perhaps), then see what each say and go from there.
