Absolutely spot on also went for this deal about 3 years ago and I still use them was 99p then and £8.99 p&p, in my opinion they are great(I'm in the catering business so should know what constitutes as a good knife) they do need to be sharpened properly tho which I do every 6 months or so! I also ordered the 3 piece knife set and they were even better!

I bought the 5 pc knife set a few months back. It was the £1.99 deal and then when I went through the order process it was £9.99 p&p so I clicked it off but then it popped up offering p&p at £6.99 so I ordered them. I payed with paypal as way of a bit of protection. The knifes are ok for the money. They look nice but are really light weight. I have not needed to sharpen them yet, but one as a few spots of rust! Not sure if that is due to the dishwasher but I have never seen it before on other knives.
I would say they are the same quality as you would get in somewhere like Wilko for the same price.

bought the original knife set, after going through the purchase pages, I ended up with a knife roll, and block too, when the stuff arrived, which it came quickly considering I hadnt secombed to the additional £8 postage, the roll was very badly damaged, not only damaged as though it was in the post, but it had been snapped off and the extra bits werent even in the package, so it was obviously packed in such a state
I then emailed them, after 7 days with no reply, I rang the premium rate number, and was told to return it and wait for a refund or replacement,
Im still waiting, will never buy from again they are rubbish

I think the point is that they are nothing special.

They are a ten pound set of knives that cost around ten pounds.

The fake RRP, inflated P&P, poncey name (who IS 'Jean Patrique'?) and apparant low price are just marketing techniques to get you to buy a very unspectacular product at the price they are worth.

I'd rather go to a local budget housewares shop and avoid the spam mailings.
