So if you don't ever use your landline for calls, why pick a provider whose basic line rental includes a minimum calls bundle?

Probably something to do with there being no other provider on the market at the time.
There is now, so I have switched and will no longer be subjected to their penalty charges :)

On the anytime plan you have to call (two times) a mobile number or some non-geo number that is not an 0845 or 0870 number, to make a CHARGEABLE call, each month.

    1. Customer services told me that any call would do i.e. INCLUSIVE calls. Only to be told by a second representative that that was unfortunately incorrect.
    2. They tried to charge me in the first instance for a period of only about 3 weeks i.e. not a full month (which happened to be in August when I was on holiday).
    3. Even when I make CHARGEABLE calls their system does not record them.

We are taking about a premier league company here, very rich, plenty of resources and.................no ethics whatsoever.

I found on numerous occasions that, with them, it is a case of one hand does not know what the other is doing.
I need a phone service that I can rely on as, in this house, it could be a matter of life and death, that is why I no longer use them for calls.
I just needed a line for my internet and they were the only option at the time.

Inclusive Calls Do Count but why have Anytime Calls if your only use phone to access Internet ?

"BT Answer 1571 voicemail – The call return feature does not work with withheld or international numbers. Customers who use Call Barring (and select option 1) will not be able to use 1571. The attempted call set-up will cost 17p. Some social/burglar alarm equipment may not be compatible with 1571 (check with your supplier). Customers must make at least two chargeable or inclusive calls a month (or 6 a quarter) to avoid a £1 a month charge for 1571.

BT Privacy at Home – Available with or without Caller Display. If you choose to take Caller Display you must make at least 2 chargeable/inclusive calls a month to avoid a monthly charge of £3. "

Also you dont have to the call features. If you dont need them ask for them to be removed. Then no charge will be raised full stop.
