Isme Home Shopping problem

Options
Hi,

I bought something over a year ago from what is now the Isme catalogue on the buy now pay later deal.

I stupidly forgot about it (totally my own fault I know) and moved house. I just got the letters trough from the new house owner and unfortunately due to returned direct debits (my old card details they had on file had expired) I had debt collection letters, and mounting charges.

In acknowledgement that it was my own fault for not keeping tabs on my own account I paid the balance off in full, my account was showing 0.00 and the payment was accepted. I though this was a hard lesson learned and I'd be more careful in future.

Today I look at the account online and although it's still showing as 0.00, they have requested another 10.00 payment through direct debit which has once again been returned! I'm not happy as I thought that my full payment would put an end to the problem. I'm worried now that they will slap another charge on for the unnecessary direct debit having been returned - can they do this? I've been trying to call them but after waiting on hold for 10 mins have given up. Can anyone here advise me on whether it is likely they will heap even more charges on me?

I would re-try calling, you should get through eventually, or alternatively email. If your account is zero, a variable Direct Debit payment should not be requested in the first place, so some error has clearly occurred. I would also contact your bank and cancel the DD arrangement.
