    Start waking your neighbour up at horrible hours needing to get your car out of the garage. A couple of 5.30am early morning starts for work and a couple of late night 1am films should do it. Alternatively why dont you talk to him and explain that unless he stops parking blocking your garage you wont pay. Next time he moves his car, leave your car in front of your garage

    What if I have regular guests to stay?
    Or a partner moves in for 8.5 of the 12 month period?
    Or one of the neighbour's kids goes to bording school so is away 3 times a year for 12 weeks a time? Or... or...
    the maths is unthinkable!

    The point surely is, that each of two properties has equal right to use the tank, irrespective of whether or how much they choose to use it. So the cost should be shard equally.

    there's always Douglas Adams' solution;
    Bethselamin is a fabulously beautiful planet which attracts billions of tourists each year. Unsurprisingly, erosion is a serious concern of the local authorities. Their solution is to calculate the net imbalance between the amount of matter eaten and the amount subsequently excreted by each visitor, and remove the weight difference through amputative surgery. Thus it is vitally important to get a receipt after every trip to the lavatory while on the planet.

    however i live in the first house and i am NOT responsible for any repairs beyond the boundary's of my property
    Out of interest, did it say that in your Deeds?

    yes i think it could be on the deeds

    I remember discussing it with our solicitor when we bought the house i know i have it in writing somewhere in the paperwork she sent us
    I am not an expert I am self taught i have no legal training any information I post is based on my own personal experience and information gained from other web sites

    If you are in any doubt please seek legal/expert advice help

    Go down the requesting access at 5.30 in the morning if the neighbour is blocking it route

    As you're looking for a legal viewpoint on this, you either have to hope that one of the conveyancing solicitors on this site answers you or you will have to speak to your original solicitor (although I guess that might be difficult if you bought the house a long time ago).

    Unfortunately, I still think that the answer is lurking within the Deeds and that might be the response you get either on here or from your solicitor.

    Of course, I have been known to be wrong ........ occasionally :eek:
