    That's what we did 3-4 months after going br we sent the keys back.

    hi....although secured debts are not included in a bankruptcy....if a debt subsequently becomes unsecured....and was initiated pre-BR.....[which your mortgage was?].....then the unsecured balance [shortfall] becomes included within the BR....

    [unless, as others have said you make the mistake of subsequently signing a document stating you ware liable for shortfall?]

    So it really doesn't matter at what time the property is re-possessed....
    No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......
