Just heard that oracle of wisdom Ed Balls say that Lehman didn't fail because of government policy but the slowdown is caused entirely by austerity and that the UK and Eurozone should spend more (inspire of the fact that 5 economies are cut off from international money markets).
Epic fail.
Epic fail to the BBC for letting the moron get away with it.

BBC is left wing. And we all know it is and has been for years. Why is this such a surprise?0

Good god, it's doesn't say much for the Labour Party that their Shadow Chancellors since Alistair Darling have so far been Alan Johnson (who actually joked he'd need to buy a book on Economics when he was appointed) and Ed Balls, who is a cretin and clearly doesn't have the first clue about economics.
Don't they have anyone with some basic economic knowledge who they can appoint to the Shadow Chancellor role? Gordon Brown anyone?0

Sticks in the throat that these idiots are whining like it's all someone elses fault.
I love the Alistair Darling revelations that he thought the downturn would be the biggest for 60 years but Brown was telling him he had it all wrong and it would be a small 6 month blip.
As Darling admits, even he was too optimistic.
Brown was too busy getting the two Ed's to brief against Darling to see what was coming.
They couldn't even agree the budget.
Meanwhile Balls thinks he has it all worked out.
The man is a monumental muppet..... and a dangerous one to boot.0

But where is the fail? - Ed Ball's target audience believe every word of it and love to hear it said. You just need the majority to prefer being told what they would like to hear rather than the truth for it to be an election winning strategy.I think....0

Having Balls around is wonderful. Whilst he is there, it makes the Labour Party unelectable. Long may he thrive!0

I thought that Ball's suggestion that the independent Office of Budget Responsibility should review the effectiveness of the 50% tax rate was quite sensible even if their previous forecasts have been unimpressive0

            Prime Minister Ed Balls.
It's coming, it's inevitable - don't think it won't happen because he's clearly doing something right to have secured the Shadow Chancellor position and then spout all that lip service hogwash.
Red Ed to lose the next election and then Balls to be Party Leader, and win the following one. I don't want it to happen but I feel it in my bones!0

 Balls as Prime Minister??????
And Harriet 'sleazebag' Harman as deputy?
 What a team!
It would have everyone saying "Come back Gordon, all is forgiven!"0

But the trouble is there are, as others have said, plenty that believe what he says and it depends if they outnumber those who have a even a basic understanding. Worryingly, they probably do.0
