in Credit cards
I need some advice regarding a marbles credit card account. Marbles have reduced my credit limit on my account by a over £1000. This action has put my account into arrears by £900. without this reduction my account would still be in credit. Marbles are now demanding that I pay the "arrears". these arrears have been wholly created by marbles, and through no fault of mine. I have spent hours on the phone to this sorry bunch attempting to get an explanation. A pointless exercise. they have also threatened to start levying charges against the account if I dont pay the arrears in full. immediately. I have told them if they do this I will take them to the small claims court and claim all the charges back. my immediate problem is what I can do about this outrageous and irresponsible action by marbles, as Im sure im going to get further demands shortly. I told them I cannot pay this full amount but they are not interested.

Can you tell us why they reduced your lmit in the first place, have you missed a payment or gone over your limit..........Im sure someone will be along shortly with advice.Aiming to be debt free....but still off target0 -
I have asked why my limit was reduced. the answer I got was. "it has been reduced because we thought that there had been unusual activity on the account" when I pushed further they stated there had been an attempted wihdrawal from the account.Eventually they admitted they knew that what they were referring to wasnt an attempt but an actual withdrawal by myself ,which they had previously confirmed by telephone by me as such. if it wasnt such a serious matter this mind numbing incompetence would be funny. To add insult to injury when I asked them to therefore restore the previous credit limit the answer I got was. "We cannot" when I asked as to why they said " the credit department cant review it for six months". I pointed out to them the absurdity of the situation and how irresponsible it was ,but got the same mantra. it is straight out of the sketch in little Britain.

You havent answered the question. Did your withdrawal take the account over the limit? Or have you missed payments/incurred charges on it?
You might be worth making an official complaint in writing.0 -
as I said in my original post. The reduction in my credit limit put me in arrears. not the withdrawal. the withdrawal took place approximately two weeks before the reduction in credit limit. I have not missed any payments, made late payments or any other actions to the detriment of the account.0
