I really do, every case is different and to give an indication like the one you describe without doing any research sounds very odd indeed. I deal with a wide variety or complex underwring issues everyday and with the exception of very specific issues like BMI and very mild anxiety / depression, I would never presume to say which insurers would or would not be suitable prior to doing the research. appart from anything else, underwriting stances even change within insurers from time to time. So unless the broker had recently research identical circumstances to yours, I don't see how they could comment in such a way.0

Thanks OshayAway.
Well I suppose we will see what Monday brings.
You've made me feel abit more positive and that all is not lost yet.
We've had a miserable day thinking we would lose this house we want to buy. It's not just the house, it'd mean a great school for the kids, a better life etc.
I will certainly update you on any news as I really appreciate your advice and oppinions.
Thanks again.:)0 -
Have you checked your PMs? the link is at the top of the page in the 'welcome' bar0

You dont HAVE to have life Insurance in order to get a Mortgage. The advisor at the bank is lying to you - as you have already spotted on the document you have.
I have sent you a PM earlier this week, im not based too far from you and whilst im not Whole of Market i do have access to about 10 insurance companies. Some of which only take cases on to people who are "high risk" so even if we cant get you a standard type of policy we can most likely get you a valid quote including any ratings - then you have the option of taking it up or not.
You will find some financial advisors only deal with Penions/Investments. They usually work with Mortgage advisors who take on the protection work.

We'd be grateful for any help we can get tbh.
I'm worried we're talking about the kind of premuims we're going to be unable to afford.
Having never had insurance before we have no idea what to expect. How much is normal insurance and how much is high risk I dont know?
Is it something an ordinary family could afford?0 -
Its hard to say without having all your details but £100k of cover can cost around £7-10 on a single life.
Obviously this is unlikely to be the case in your circumstances but until we know all of the details its impossible to say.
Life insurance is as cheap as its ever been at the minute. So even with a heavy loading, your monthly premiums are unlikely to cost more than the average night out.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
