What do I need to do to get this to work ? I am unable to connect and get a message telling me to allow UDP traffic through my router. I have tried opening the required ports on my Netgear DG834n router but obviously I am doing something wrong as I cannot connect, anyone gort any advice please?
going to portforward.com and getting the explicit/free gadget to check if a particular port is open is a good start, did you open the port on your firewall also and made sure your PCs ip address is set static and/or hasn't changed0 -
Thats the only drawback, you don't ever own the game, even if you purchase. However the first game for £1 and order saintsrow 3 for £25ish with playpack and get a free console was a good offer.
I can see it being massive in the next 5-10years, by which time I reckon Steam might come up with something0 -
OnLive is great unless you're on TalkTalk which throttle the service so much it's useless!! between 6pm-midnight lol!!
Thankfully i'm not on TalkTalk and have had a couple of goes on OnLive, it's not my thing! i'm more of a Steam games kinds player! ^_^Laters

Thanks jaydeeuk! I didn't realise about the £1 deal - now got Deus Ex Human Revolution

As for the service, I gave it a go a few weekends ago and think it's great. Definitely useful for a former gamer who hasn't bought a proper gaming machine in 5 years. I can see that OnLive are serious about this taking off. No glitches; it makes me wonder what will happen when a buggy game is released - people will blame OnLive.
Won't be good for a game you'd want to use mods on, e.g. Fallout 3.
I'm lucky enough to have a 20MB connection so it worked quite well, 720P resolution. In Australia we were artificially limited to 1.5MB as we were stuck on the Telstra infrastructure. Tried OnLive recently in Wales as well, but with 2MB and TalkTalk it wasn't going to happen.0 -
FYI, the playpack service is free for 3 months to users with a BT phone number and broadband and post code. Of course, theres nothing stopping you from typing in a BT number and post code from someone you know (or even don't!)... Obviously you'd ask their permission first, right?
And if you can be ar5ed with multiple accounts, theres nowt in the terms letting you sign up with wifes name and taking advantage of the £1 offer again.0
