If I were in youer shoes weller, I would call national debtline and get a second opinion.

myvesta dont seem to have a great deal of users on this site (seemingly only one person who does present as overly biased as richard says)
With this in mind - Id ring national debtline and see what they think. if they repond positively or negitively, this should help influence your decision oe way ot t'other.

I agree Richard - if that is the option that is available, then that's what I would do too.

I just don't like that they ask for donations, as proved in this thread, it can make you feel obligation to give something regardless of whether they say its optional or not, but thats just my personal predjudice about things like that when it comes to people struggling as it is financially.

I am going to look into why Payplan say that Moorcroft won't deal with them. The Office of Fair Trading states that they cannot refuse to deal with any third party, so i'll check up on this and come back when I've found something out.

Actually, they are both a registered Company AND hold a Credit Licence.

I really don't know where you get your information from!

There have been a multitude of complaints on this site re Payplan and CCCS whom are supposed to be wonderful and marvellous in the beginning, but as soon as someone is actively in a DMP or IVA and hit a problem with their income they both simply abandon them.

I take it that you work for one of them.

From personal experience I wouldn't go anywhere else but Myvesta - they use the best IVA companies in the business.

Firstly, I do not work for either of them, in fact I do not work for any debt company or IP! I am speaking from my own personal experiences.

What you have said about Payplan and CCCS is extremely dangerous, and leaves you and possibly the site open to libel action! You cannot say that these Companies automatically `Dump` people when there are problems, that is totally untrue.

For your information, what I was on about was a site that you yourself have mentioned, www.iva.com . The site regulates IVA Companies by using customer feedback. Payplan are listed and have a good rating, Myvesta arent even listed.

What I have said is that Payplan and CCCS are long established Companies, with a good reputation with customers and creditors. They do provide free advice and do not ask for donations, for obvious reasons, if you have money troubles you dont need to be spending even more!

Myvesta are new in this country, (But there is plenty of information about their operations in the USA on the net):( , and as such there is no information available on how good or bad they are over here. I am simply recommending that sometimes it is better to stick to the tried and tested options, as opposed to the unknown, especially in such an important matter such as this.

What are your recommendations based on? Do you have an IVA set up with them yet? Has it all gone through? Do you know of anyone that has been through the complete process with them yet, and can provide a complete appraisal of their services?

Unlike you, I am not condemming anyone, just pointing out the benefits of the tried and tested.

Can I also assume that you work for them as well then, as obviously you have information on them which a normal member of the public wouldnt know as a matter of course?
    10 1p's are better than no 10p's !!!

Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected become the expected?;)

Remember, posts here are just the informed views of someone with similar experiences to your own or with some basic understanding of the issues.
Please remember, if in doubt, seek professional advice!

The information I have given you about Myvesta is available for anyone to view on their own website.

    I don't work - full stop.

The information I gave re the complaints of P & C are here on this thread for anyone and everyone to read - why blame me?

I have not had any dealings with either or them, I don't need to, I used the best - I used Myvesta.

I am concerned that Payplan in particular allow everyone to assume that they are "free", which they are not. It is misrepresentation.

I would be careful if I were you - people from Myvesta do post on this DFW Board!!
  • Myvesta are totally unique in what they do. They're a not for profit financial crisis company and they do not charge for their services. I have an IVA with them and have found them to be professional, supportive, knowledgeable and they're with you every step of the way. They even collect your monthly IVA payments for you and then send them onto the IP. You get your own client account of which you can log onto to see how much you'd paid into your IVA. They only use specially selected IP's and use the best in the field IE; Grant Thornton is one of them.

Love the way you just edited that sandralovescats to prove that you had got it wrong, yet again.

CCCS and Payplan DONT charge for DMPS

Just confirmed this over the phone with them

I am currently on the phone now to find out if, there are in fact any IVA practitioners who DO NOT charge practitioner fees. If there are then the DFW community should know, so It is useful knowledge for all of us.

I knew we were talking about IVA's - did you?????

    Do keep up

Farepak's bankruptcy was caused by the bank withdrawing funding.

We were speaking of IVA's not DMP's.
