Residents only parking...

Hi,
I live in an area with very limited parking, however right by my house is a residents only area which has about 6 parking spaces and only one of the residents has a car so most spaces are used by local businesses.
My house is technically on a different street (I'll call it Street A) so doesn't actually qualify for the residents parking, however the ONLY entrance to my house is on Street B, which has the residents only parking. Bearing in mind, only 1 resident on Street B has a car, would there be any legal implications if I parked my car on Street B?
TIA!

Depends if it is a Council Residents Parking Scheme, if it's council residents have to buy a permit, and their PCN.s can lead to a bailiff calling if they aren't paid0

If you can get a permit for street B you can park there! Or if the permit includes street A & B some are street specific others are area specific!0

Thanks for the replies, I'm quite confident that the residents haven't paid for permits as all but one doesn't drive so I can't see them spending money on something they don't use, however the houses on street B are all council houses.
Lots of people, myself included do park there and haven't had any problem like parking tickets in the past, but my concern is I'm having some difficulties with one of the residents. She doesn't have a car, and there are 2 parking spaces infront of her house which she is very territorial about. In the past I have been nice and friendly with her and agreed not to park infront of her window (she doesn't like people parking there incase men go past and see her in her PJs - she easily in her 70s!) and she has always said she doesn't mind me parking in the other space but recently she has become very difficult. She has a traffic cone which she puts in the space infront of her window to stop anyone parking there (she takes the cone in her house at night then puts it out again in the morning!), last night the cone was right in the middle of the 2 spaces so I got out my car and moved it to the middle of the parking bay infront of the window so I could park in the other space, but then as I got back into my car and started to reverse she rushed out her house, grabbed the cone and put it directly behind my reversing car (because I was reversing it ended up partly under my car!). Then she came to the car window and moaned - not sure what she said as the window was closed and I was so shocked and angry I wasn't paying attention to what she was saying.
So, I'd like to know if she was to call the council, or police and complain about me parking there are they likely to do anything?
I know I might get told just not to park there, but it's not that easy. These parking spaces are the only spaces within a reasonably distance where I wont get a ticket, and having spent literally thousands of pounds on parking tickets over the past few years I just can't afford it any more. I never park infront of her window as she has requested, and I only park in the other space by her house as a last resort but she even has a problem with that now. If she had a car, I would never, ever take her parking space but she doesn't. All the other residents have no problem with us parking there, along with several nearby businesses using the spaces but she is getting very difficult and I'm worried she's going to cause problems.
Also, there are 12 properties on Street B but only 6 parking spaces so it's not even like each property has it's own space.0 -

:rotfl:If she has no legal rights to the 2 spots (and no car, so whats her problem?) I'd say shes just an interfering old biddy.
lol @ driving over her cone. How dangerous by putting a cone behind your car when you're reversing!? I wouldve left it under my car! She wont be able to move it then!
Speak to the council, make sure you speak to the right department.
In some cases, you have to call up twice (ive had 2 different ppl give me 2 different answers!) but you can then go back to her once you've called them up and she wont have a leg to stand on (so to speak):female: Debt-free Wannabe :T Experienced Canine BARF feeder. :grinheart Spaniel Owner :happyhear0 -

I know, she is absolutely ridiculous! Not to mention stupid for jumping behind a reversing car! She has even moaned at me in the past for parking too far out from the curb, even though I was well within the parking bay and it was a nightmare parking because there was a van blocking the road!
I'm struggling to find much info online, but I'm getting more and more confident that this 'residents only' parking isn't legally enforceable as there is no permits, just a sign saying "parking for residents of street b only". Quite tempted to phone the council and see what they say, but worried they will tell me I'm not allowed to park there - my experience of the council in the past hasn't been very helpful0 -
Update - just got off the phone from speaking to a very helpful lady at the council who confirmed that I am free to park there and this old lady has no right to use the parking cone or tell anyone who can or can't park there
Wish I'd spoken to the council about this ages ago - I'm looking forward to telling the crazy lady that I can park there, she has no right to put out traffic cones and if she continues to do so the council have recommended I report her!0
