Car Deposit

I'm actually right with you on that one.
I don't think many dealers would give a hoot if another buyer pitched up holding a bundle of cash. It's either the guaranteed money there and then, or the original punter opting out leaving the car on the forecourt.
However if there is no other punter holding cash the dealer will sure as eggs is eggs use the deposit status of the car as an excuse to get ratty and refuse to refund. "I've taken it off the for sale listing so you owe me".
It reminds me of trading a car in. Got no service history? Loads of teeth sucking and claims that the car is worthless "so I can only give you the bottom price".
Got Full service History? "People aren't interested in that anyway on a car like this" (whatever it may be).
You can't trust any of them.0 -
The reason that dealers sell cars to real buyers when they pitch up, even haven already taken a deposit from someone else, is illustrated above. For some reason too many people think a deposit is some kind of "let me think" period of grace, not the binding first payment for a total package.0

Loads of options really but you have to get him to realise that refunding you is the cheapest and easiest option for him. At the moment, it isn't and you have to change his perception of that.
Agreed, which is where the Neanderthal may come into play,
, but only if reason fails. I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
