Has the same happened to you lately? We've been with them 3 months and they've put our DD up already, plus they didn't let me know
From about £30 to £41..
On hold to them now to find out 1, why it has gone up after such a short period of time, and 2, why I wasn't informed in writing

LOTS of other threads re increased DDs - basically EDF's computer system is totally broken and doesn't calculate future requirements accurately when it has no history to go on, so defaults to wacking up the payments !! LOL
Shouldn't have a problem getting DDs back to previous level when you talk to a human!!0 -

On the phone to them now as I type this
Not broached the DD subject yet. Trying to sort out me not getting notified of the increase.
Actual words.. "my manager says sometimes you'll get emails about bills and messages but sometimes you wont, most customers check 'myaccount'"
I told them I'm not willing to accept that as an answer0 -
So, we joined EDF on the 14th of July, and since then have used a whopping 36 units of gas
36 units x 3.353p = £1.121
56 days x 19.72p = £11.04
Yet our direct debit was £32.61 and was raised to £41... I think not!
Back down to £300 -
Me Too! They upped our dd in the first month with no justification!! Don't bother with the email enquiry - I've tried 3 times now - got an incomplete response the first time and they just didn't bother the second two times (I had waited 2 weeks before trying again!). Just going to have to ring, although last time I tried was on hold for over 20 mins before I gave up!0

It's a cunning plan. And that could be the stumbling block...No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Similar story here!
Transferred to EDF in early August, and now they want to increase our DD payment for dual fuel by 20%!
Needless to say I'm currently on hold waiting to speak to a human being about it...0 -
...and just finished speaking to a rather apologetic EDF advisor.
Sure enough, their billing system is faulty and should only review direct debits after six months! My monthly payment has gone back to what it used to be.0 -
Yep, another one here just got the direct debit increase for gas (joined in July), despite not having seen my first gas bill yet. I downloaded something about a week ago which is just gibberish so not sure if it is my bill - website down so unable to access anything at present.
Good to know I'll be able to change it back - once I manage to speak to 'a human' about it:cool:
Can't wait for my 'fix' to end though - never had any trouble with Eon .................0
