The missing paperwork is down to us but the agent was well aware of our situation at the time, they have records of the problems we incurred.

In that case, if they knew about the issues earlier and they acknowlege that then this I the point at which your complaint and claim started. This is the date you need to discuss with the agents concerned.

I'd have needed the same proof required for the holiday agent..

getting eastjet on the phone was hard enough, getting copy paperwork - impossible "not their fault" which it wasn't.
all the other receipts were from food outlets at the airport, taxis and a hotel who's proximity and name I didnt take too much notice of at midnight with two tired children.

    Ok thats fair enough.

But did you attempt in any way to raise an issue, even without this paperwork?

It would likely act in favour if you could say over the last 9 months you have exhausted all options available to you, despite the fact they may have been limited without paperwork.

thanks for the prompt reply, I dont see what having a baby has to do with anything! it was actually nearly 12 months.

I was after some factual advice rather than personal opinion

can anybody help with an informed reply please?

The 'baby' bit referred to the timescale ie at least 9 months if the problem related to last year.

Most of what you will get in replies is based on personal opinion. If you want me to sound a bit more certain then I will - I am certain that you have no chance at all of getting anything back in the way of compensation. Holiday companies always state in their T&Cs that you must report a problem while still at the resort and/or follow up with a letter when you get home. The companies I have had dealings with seem to quote 'within 28 days'. If yours says 'within a reasonable time' I can't see that you can argue that 11 months is reasonable, its surely far too long.
