Scottish Power price increase??
Had a letter yesterday to say someone was coming out next week to either read or reset my meter. (prepayment)
Meter was read a fortnight ago so didn't think it was this and it was reset a month ago so didn't think it could be that either.
Just been on the phone to them and they said it will be someone coming out to reset the meter because of the price increase - is that correct and has anyone else had theirs reset because of this or has it coming?
Also this morning I got sent a new prepayment card, but the account number on the bottom of it is not the same as my account number. I queried this too and was told it is more likely because of the meter being reset.
I told the lady that there was no way I was going to use this card with it not having my account number on it (all my cards have had my account number on them) and she advised to ask whoever comes to reset the meter next week. Why would a reset mean I get a different account number?
Does this sound right?? I don't want to be buying tokens with it and the amount is going onto someone elses account!

Scottish Power last increased their tariffs in July last year, so if it was reset recently I'm surprised it needs to be adjusted again.
Is the number on the card an account number? Or just a card number? Many companies use a card number a bit like your debit card has a card number, but is still linked to your account.0 -

The lady on the phone said prices have increased again
The cards both have a long number on them, but on the bottom right, the one I'm using now (and all previous ones) have my account number there - this new one which was sent yesterday has a totally different account number on it.
Say for example my account number is 551544445555, this new one has 336655441144 so it's not like its just one digit out.
Account number has been the same for as long as I've been with SP at this address which is almost 9 years.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0
