Ok.... I dont usually hang out on these boards but I need a rant and help with my strongly worded letter.
I'm with them and I pay £70ish a month for me in a 2 bed flat. High I know but they said it works out right over the winter...
I got a letter saying that they were putting the DD up to £169! Seriously! And they confirmed that I was £274 in credit!
The letter is awful that the sent about how my 'repayment plan' has been paid! what payment plan?!?! I'm not in debt and even if I was £77 to cover what I use and the 'repayment' cant then jump to £169.
I want to complain and I want to complain alot.
Any ideas where to start?
Thanks for your help!

Chill out and phone them. In my experience, EOn have been very good at dealing with problems. Annoying as it is for you, it won't do your case any good venting off at them.
If, after speaking to them, you still have a problem, then a strongly worded letter may help move things along, but I'd be surprised if it would get to that stage.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Hi Danni-R,
I'm sorry you are unhappy at the mo.
Have you spoken to E.ON about this at all yet?
Is your Direct Debit to cover both gas and electricity?
Is your account billed up to accurate meter readings? or is this credit ready to go towards the next bill?
Sorry about all of the questions, it just helps me understand what's going on.
I can take a look at your account if you would like me to and give you more specific advice, you can email me at [EMAIL="WebForumAdvisors@eonenergy.com"]WebForumAdvisors@eonenergy.com[/EMAIL].
I will be happy to help.

Hi Helena,
I spoke to someone who was really nice bless him and dealt with me really well as I was annoyed but my argument is about how you worded the letter etc. I'll be in contact soon.

I'm in a similar situation.
Until June I was paying £61 a month which was an amount I was happy with. My account then was £150 in debit and they wanted to increase my DD to £90 a month. I called them up and arranged to pay off the debit as a lump sum and they agreed to only increase the DD to £75.
Now I got my September bill today and I find that I am £92 in credit and yet they want to change my DD to £115 a month! Helpfully the bill says "you don't need to do anything.
I'm on the default EnergyOnline product since the previous SaveOnline 2 finished on 1 Sep and was planning on switching the SaveOneline 9 for 13 September but now I'm looking at switching options.
I'll call them in the morning when I've calmed down a little.0 -
I got a DD increase notice from E.On the other day. £100 a month up from £82. This is after just finishing SaveOnline 2 and switching to SaveOnline 9. I did my own caculation of what the monthly amount should be based on my annual consumption and that came out at £97. So the £100 is near enough for me not to bother complaining.
Have the others on this thread done a similar calculation.0 -
Hi Danni-R,
Oh I see, it does surprise me about how your letter appears to have mentioned a re-payment plan when you are on a Direct Debit.
Like I said I can look in to it for you and see what has happened, I am also able to pass on feedback regarding the letters etc.
Glad the person you spoke to was nice, that's good to hear.

Hi,
I was going to write a letter if thats ok? I know the bloke I spoke to said that he would make sure my account wasnt hit with the direct debit of £169. I'd prefer to have a written confirmation that there will be no changes to my account.
It doesnt happen very often but I do beleive in credit where its due and he was really nice. Just think its things he has no control over that annoyed me![STRIKE]£2200[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£1950[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1850[/STRIKE] £1600 on my credit card
