Hi Folks
Anyone know if you can use a digital camera as a webcam and if so do you need software and could you down load that if possible.

there are a couple of cameras that can be connected via USB to act as webcams , but not many. ( and they tend to be pretty poor cameras
You may well be better off getting hold of a cheap webcam - I got mine ages ago from morrisons for a tenner I think.0 -
Some can, I've got a Fuji Finepix A310 that came with a docking station that can be used as a webcam. That model isn't sold anymore but it may be worth having a look at more recent Fuji cameras. I think you have to use the docking station though rather than just a USB lead.

The short answer is "yes" - I tried this with XP and MSN some time ago. Simply plugging in the camera (with the USB lead) and pressed whichever option it is in MSN to perform a "webcam link" with the other user. You should be able to do the same with other software.
But you can also pick up a dedicated webcam from somewhere like eBay for under £5.0
