I don't suppose anyone has any insider info on the release of a new ipod touch soon?

Thought I'd get on over the next few weeks and was wondering if a new generation is out soon, if so I'll wait. :j

It'll be announced and out probably within the next 2 to 3 weeks.

Exactly what it will be is a secret, but I have my predictions. I think it'll have a new design, to look similar to the iphone 4; a better camera for stills - maybe a white version, and maybe even a 3G version. But several people have already disagreed with me on this!

I hope something is annouced soon as I'm off travelling for 6 months and really want to take something like this with me.

Yeah it's pretty obvious.

Apple release a good product, then slowly add to it to make it better. It makes absolute sense that they will add 3G at some point, particularly as they're going to be looking at challenging the telcos in the not-so-distant future.

PS I hadn't read that story previously.

From that article it sounds like apple are trying to compete with amazons whispernet, especially when amazon release its tablet.
