Your best bet is to do a SOA and we can see whats going on, and if theres any savings that can be made.

Have a read of southern scousers sticky "first time posters" and follwo the instructions , post up your SOA and we can take it from there ;)

Had a little search and apparently it's something called MoneyAlert, which is a name linked with MBNA credit cards. I phoned them and it's some Indian call centre sounded very dodgy.

  • Hi horse

wouldnt worry about the calls to much, when the call answer the phone but refuse to confirm your name or any security details they are then unable to talk to you about anything as it would break the dpa.

i avoided telling my oh about my debts (15k) it was a nightmare, my heart was in my mouth every time the phone rang and i dreaded the post every day. once i told the oh about the debts it was a massive weight off my shoulders and she has been great since i told her.

Years ago I had this situation, god it was awful. Avoided the phone constantly, dreaded the post man every day, was glad when it was all eventually sorted.
  • 08004046601 this number belongs to a company in india call global vantage india!, i suspect they work for banks when money owed has been left for a number of years, i phoned them this mornig but i was not prepared to give them any info in respect to who i am and my address!

they refused to tell me anything about how they obtained my number unless i confirmed my DOB and address,

i asked what line of business they are in but they were not prepared to tell me!,

this all seems very dodgy if you ask me , what reason would they have not to disclose info about the nature of the business (global ventage india)

anyone getting text messages from this number asking you to return the call i would reccommend you dont as it will get you nowhere!!

i have dept but have not missed a payament for over 5 years, i also had some dept before this which i never paid and have never been in touch with the bank to resolve it!

this however has not stopped me taking out a number of credit cards two personal loans and a 150,000 mortgage!

all of which are upto date without any missed payments, thats why i find it very strange for this knid of contact from suspiciuos phone numbers,

if anyone out there can shed some light on this please feel free to post or reply.

"were all on the slippery slope, this is the nature of the modern world, without it we would not have cars, homes, widescreen t.v.s , we need the dept and it needs us, other wise we would still be in the dark ages, but dont let it bring you down as its not really that important, they cant take what you dont have can they!!
