Baggage Allowance Confusion

Hey guys (and gals)
Due to fly to majorca on saturday night with thomson
got my little booklet throught that gives me my details etc...
under baggage allowance it says we have 20kg each. on the other page it says something about 5kg of hand luggage.
obviously from this i assume 20kg of hold, 5kg of hand.
Just been on the thomson website... and it says standard allowance is 15kg. does this mean that when it says 20kg on my booklet it means 20kg TOTAL (both hold and hand?!) ???
Im a little confused!

I had a bit of the same confusion, just come back from a holiday booked via a villa company, flights were with Monarch. The airline website states 'usually 20kg per person including 5kg hand baggage allowance. - implying 15kg in the hold. My holiday paperwork specified 20kg hold plus 5kg hand. Which proved to be correct on check-in.
It seems its down to what terms the holiday booking company contract with the airline, check with the company you booked with and have the print-out to hand when checking in just in case.0 -

Check your invoice it will say on there. It is very confusing nowadays because it depends if you booked a package or flight only, if its a standard holiday or a platinum one etc etc the list goes on.
Usually thomsons is 15kg + 5kg hand unless a platinum or premium hol, but you can pay to upgrade to 20kg + 5kg hand so if you look at your invoice it should say what you've paid for.0 -
Ive had a look at the PDF of my holiday details i got emailed from teletext, and it says nothing about allowances on there
I thought going on holiday was meant to be a pleasurable experience! Not a stressful one!!0 -
I've just delved deeper into the thomson website and found some more information.... After reading a different FAQ page i've found some more information
"What is the luggage allowance if I'm travelling as part of a package holiday booking?"
"Customers travelling with Thomson Airways as part of an inclusive holiday should refer to the baggage allowance page"
This page is the one i originally got my information from...
but now i've found this bit of info:
"What is the Thomson Airways luggage allowance, for a flight only booking?"
"Each passenger who has opted to pay for check in luggage has a total allowance of 20kg per person, irrespective of the number of bags checked in....
Each passenger may also take one piece of hand luggage weighing up to 5kg on board (Max. dimensions: 55cm x 40cm x 20cm)."
So.... because I've booked through Teletext and every element of my holiday is booked separately by different providers, does this mean i'm effectively a flight only customer? and thus get 20kg of hold luggage?0 -
If you have flight only with Thomsons then yes you have 20kg luggage and 5kg, do you have a phone number for the company off teletext just to clarify and be on the safe side.0
