Car Insurance due for renewal - clean licence one month later!

My car insurance is due for renewal in February, and I am just about to lose three points off my licence in March :j
As I'll have a completely clean licence, it's likely I'll get a better deal then. Anyone any ideas on how I can manage this? Can't go without a car for a month, need it for work.
These might be stupid questions, but first time I've had my own car as always had a company car (and how much do I miss it!)
Any help appreciated!

How long ago did you get your points? I've been looking around recently as mine is due for renewal and most seem to want to know if you've had any points in the last 5 years! Sorry if this isn't waht you wanted to hear!0

You beat me to it!
They're off your license after 4, but you still need to declare them (if asked) up to 5 years.:A MSE's turbo-charged CurlyWurlyGirly:A

Use https://www.confused.com to generate a new quote (including your 3 points)....note down the top 10 offers or so. Log on to the site again and open up the same quote, click on 'ammend quote' and change the points to zero. Check the difference between insurers who have quoted both times...this should give you a fair idea of the effect/or not of having a completely clean licence and thus if its worth trying to arrange a single months insurance or using the train for a month. Good luck0

Don't forget, you'll still need to insure your car even if you don't intend to drive it.
What if you wake up and find it missing
Also, if you have any finance on your car - You'll find that the lenders will require continuous insurance.0 -
YOu will find that the 3points dont make much a differnce when renewing your policy. I assume that the 3 points is either a sp30 or sp60 for speeding. If that is the case then they will not make any difference to the price as they are classified as expired even though you need to delcare them. One way to double check is ask your current insurer the price with and without. I sold insurance for 5yrs and 3 points over 3 yeras old tend not to make a difference.
Hope that helpsIf I have been helpful - Hit the Thanks button0 -
The other option (but a little more work), is to insure it with your points, cancel the insurance within 14 day cancellation policy, reinsure it, cancel it again, reinsure it, cancel it again.
Then insure it with 0 points.
Just a thought, probably too much hassle to save probably £20 or so!0
