i'm running windows xp on a dell laptop with aol broadband
on a cookery website that i often visit .. this morning everytime i go on it i'm getting a box appear which says ...
a runtime error has occurred
do you wish to debug ?
line 309
error object expected .
click for yes or no ...
yes ...goes into various boxes about debugging that seem to eventually freeze ....
no .. does nothing .. won't go away ...
and i cant' get rid of it or close down the page or control/alt/del does nothing so i end up turning the on/off button and restarting .
I haven't done or changed anything .
how do i sort ??

The problem is likely to be with the website not your PC. They've put some instructions into the page which don't work.
If this isn't the problem it might be handy to know which site it is so others can see if they get the same error.0 -
Yes, probably a problem on the web site.
To prevent the errors appearing, in IE click Tools - Internet Options - Advanced tab. Make sure the two 'Disable script debugging' boxes are ticked and 'Display a notification about every script error' is not ticked.0 -
chippy... did that ... a couple of the boxes weren't ticked.
however .. now i get a bigger box !..
headed Internet Explorer script error
line ..... 16
char .....1
error.... syntax error
code .... 0
continue running scripts .. yes or no click.0 -
Ensure 'Display a notification about every script error' is not ticked.0
