  • they can stop them if they want, they just dont want to. dont get upset about it. go on the reclaim site send a letter, demanding they refund. explain you have never missed any payments and you are disgusted with the way they are treating you.

ask them to prove it cost them £140, they cant do this therefore their charges are illegal

thankyou for your advice .... they told me at the call centre it would be better to talk to them rather than talk to my own branch!! yet when i had a chage last year and i rang the call centre i was told there was no way they could reduce or stop the charge yet when i went into the branch the woman spoke to her manager and she revoked them ! ....

maybe its worth me ringing the branch ??

  • If you're more comfortable doing that then I'd give it a try...

As thefoolonthehill says, they CAN refund them if they want. Tell them you'll be happy to pay if they can provide a breakdown of their costs, which they won't.

Which bank is it? Halifax were fine when my boyf rang them about the same thing.

  • you might struggle to get through to the branch as most branch numbers are be taken away and replaced by call centre numbers.

if you call in and speak to them it usually has an effect as it is face to face and they cant hide behind the phone

    good luck

  • if you knew you were going to be charged why did you take your card to cornwall? -

get your charges back - but be careful as it could happen again if you are not careful
