Phone costs

Hi
I need to call Jobcentre plus to find info regarding ESA but the only number I can find is a 0845 number... is this correct or is there another one?
It will cost me 10p per min to call this number

THANKS

There is only the 0845 number.
  • if you go into a local jobcentre they have phones you can use. is there one you could walk to? or possibly some kind of local charity/advice centre that may let you use their phone.

    It's 3p a minute if you use 18185. You can also use 18185 from mobile phones by calling 020 81 80 2828.

  • If you use the phones in the Jobcentre I think you can call them for free.

When I was unemployed, and advised to call this number re vacancies, I queried that, because there has been widespread press coverage about the unacceptable cost of these calls, and if you were simply calling to check for vacancies, the same information should be available online. It was agreed that I need not call this help line and it was removed from my Jobseekers agreement, but your circumstances are different. None-the-less, worth querying, as people on low incomes cannot afford to pay high call charges, so they should be making everything more accessible.

From a registered mobile you would call the 020 number instead of 18185.
