I am attempting to log into my Dell inspiron 1525 and getting the message 'The user profile service failed the login. User profile cannot be loaded'. Phoned Dell and they offered to fix my problem for £59.00. Up until yesterday my laptop was working normally - very very reluctant to fork out £59 quid without any advice - is this fixable by me with a little help from anyone out there.......much appreciated if you could advise - thanks

Just managed to make a restore point prior to the event - it has worked.......did this via info on various sites mentioned - many many thanks

Of course solutions are probably dependent on the operating system you are using, and your ability to get into safemode (F8).

If the previous Ops advice isn't applicable or doesn't work, then tell us which system you are using and if you can get into safe mode.
  • I had a similar problem several months ago on windows 7. If I remember correctly, I started in safe mode and did a rollback. That seemed to fix that particular problem. Definitely don't pay the £59 as this solution can be found on other boards.
  • Log in via safe mode; see if you can create a new user account, reboot, log in as that and copy all your information to the new account
