Urgent Help for Uk break

Have been offered unexpected some money for a holiday but need to show detail asap as the funds will close on Friday. Want to take myself and 2 kids 6 & 9 somewhere in UK with preferably good swimming/sun centre sort of facilities near a few other things to do if possible/ some evening activities for kids. Not that bothered about accommodation as long as clean good swimming more important. Budget about £3/400 for 3/4 days west coast preferable re travel.

We go to Hafan-y-Mor which a Haven site near Pwllheli quite a bit and the kids love it there. There's a decent swimming pool complex there with slides and water chutes and quite a few other activities on site including pedalo's on the boating lake, bike hire, go-carts, play areas, mini golf, etc. They do various sporting activities during the day and also have children's entertainment in the evenings (although the entertainment isn't always that great). The beach next to the site is sandy and the water is shallow and calm enough most of the time to safely paddle about in.

There a more detailed write up plus some photo's here - http://www.qype.co.uk/place/1097366-Hafan-Y-Mor-Pwllheli?p_listing=30960

Just down the road in Llanystumdwy is a place called the Rabbit Farm which my kids loved. There's loads of cute farmyard animals and you can pick up and cuddle the rabbits and puppies. There are a few less common "farmyard" animals as well including meerkats, llamas, red deer and rheas - http://www.rabbitfarm.co.uk/index.php.

Criccieth is also nearby which as a (small) castle and at the far end of the promenade is a place called Moranedd Cafe which has an indoor play area (a bit like a Charlie Chalks).

Glasfryn Parc is only about a ten minute drive away, http://www.glasfryn.co.uk/, and there's also a little funfair in Pwllheli. It's not the greatest funfair in the world by any stretch of the imagination but it's quite reasonably priced with some of the rides costing 50p a go.
The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water

from experiance some large companies offer money or vouchers to families who need a break due to many reasons. We used to be able to access funds by The Rowntree Trust until our disabled son was 16 . others are very different this is just my example. And had to be used by a certain date

  • I'd plump for center parcs longleat or sherwood. great swimming and a lovely forest setting which benefits from being traffic-free, so the kids get a sense of freedom not usually found with most holidays. plenty of activities too, but we don't often pay for any extras other than sometimes bikes. Plenty of tame wildlife comes right up to the door of the villa. No need to spend a fortune on eating out either. You can fire up the barbie or sit outside on the garden furniture with a simple al fresco picnic. Perfect family holiday:)
