Whats the best EDF Tariff to choose

Could you kind folks cast your eyes overthis and give me some feedback please, thanks.

Im currently with EDF for my electriciy, on there Annual Fix V4 tarrif that finishes at the end of this month.

I want to stay with EDF after some nightmare scenarios with BGas and nPower ..

I am bieng encouraged onto EDFs Fix Price 2014 tarriff 22.23p per day standing charge and 12.31p per k.wh unit. then theres

Fix For 2012 tarriff 13.81p per day standing charge and 12.79p per k/wh unit and to confuse things theres the

Fixed Save V2 tariff at 27.51p per day standard charge and 9.69p per kwh unit

all Midland Region EDF Tariff prices

Im veering towards Fix for 2012 tariff BUT EDF hasnt announced any future price rises yet:eek: and I dont know my yearly useage yet as I have just :eek:moved to an all electric 2 bed house that has a brand new Dimplex Ascari Boiler for the central heating and the house has reasonable insulation/double glazing etc.

Could you give me some insight into which MAY be the best tariff to go for based on an expected usage of around 15 units per day (thats an average) many thanks.

  • fixed V2 is till september 2012 - and is amoungst teh cheapest tarrif let alone fixed - you pay a premium for fixed 214 , but get piece of mind for an extra 2 years (3 winters total)

for me i look at the unit cost - as the difference bewteen standing charge around £50 , yet on my own heavy electric useage - fixed 2012 vs fixed v2 - fixed 2012 is £130 a yea more on the unit costs.

Oh dear. In that case you really need an Economy 10 type tariff which can't be compared (or switched) online.

You need to check out what metering is installed.
  • ^^ an electric boiler - no mains gas ; phone EDF and talk to them , as you want to try and be on the cheapest possible when you run the heating; as jalexa has said its highly likly an E10 will be a good option (especailly over winter)
